Primary Health Care Providers

Your work is an active expression of what you care about.

You’re likely here because more and more of your clients are avoiding eye contact, not engaging, stressing way too much, disrupting things for others -- and you’re wanting to do the best you can to help.

Your efforts are pivotal...

You have the ability to create a clinic environment in which autistics will function and heal optimally. Or not.

Autistics outside their routines -- when you get to see us -- are often so far into fight-flight-freeze responses that everything is reacted to as a threat. Taking effective action is going to require your deeper understanding of what is causing this state…

What you need is to:

  1. grasp the SMART Steps to Thrive With Autism
  2. match the symptoms and their underlying health issues (page coming soon)
  3. nail the top three most-effective interventions in your clinic, and in how your support autistic clients (page coming soon)

I promise, this isn’t rocket science.

You’ve likely been looking at autism from the outside in, instead of understanding it -- and the relevant science -- from the inside out. I can help.

If you want a little boost with those three steps:

I participated in this course for a couple of reasons: a) to learn more about your journey as an adult who made it through the earlier years, and who is absolutely aware of what the challenges were, b) to hear from the mothers who have children diagnosed.

All information provided was factual, concise and easy to understand. Because of the format of the Q & A sessions, practitioners were allowed to steer the conversations to areas that were relevant to them...which was an awesome opportunity. Uniquely done and very very brave of you because you never really knew what one might bring up. I am so utterly impressed with your professional, authentic, sincere, humble, profound wisdom sharing.

For all people who are wanting authentic, life-experience based information and strategies for children with autism, please read this. Since Jackie is an adult with autism herself, she brings knowledge from her life as well as from her vast knowledge of scientific research. She honors the individuality that comes with each unique autistic, since there truly is a spectrum of people who carry an autism diagnosis. Jackie’s work goes a LONG WAY toward helping the world to see Autism from a knowledge- based and more compassionate perspective. I would even dare to say that Jackie’s work is headed toward having comparable impact on the field of autism to the impact that Temple Grandin’s efforts have had.

Jackie’s role is that of an educator, ensuring that the primary care givers for children with ASD have access to the broadest range of tools to meet the challenges of ASD in a loving holistic manner that respects the dignity of all. Get Started

Each autistic’s unique symptoms tell you what they need to thrive.

Autism symptoms tell you which environments & actions

  • make our challenges worse
  • allow our gifts to emerge
  • optimize our autism, and enable us to thrive!

You’ve heard that when you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism. You’ve heard that you can’t generalize about us autistics -- every single one of us has:

  • different personalities, gifts and challenges
  • different interventions that help, or don’t
  • different levels of functioning (Don’t get fooled by this)

There’s no such thing as high or low functioning.

Instead, there are environments which enable autistics, and ones which disable us, by aggravating what’s at the root of our challenging behaviours. We need your help.

Help us create the non-toxic, peaceful surroundings which allow us to trust, function, learn, engage, and heal.

While our symptoms -- and the extra interventions we might need -- are different, the environments which optimize our turnaround, our recovery of health and function, our capacity to thrive…

Those environments follow the exact same patterns, all around the world, for every single one of us.

You have the potential to dramatically improve the entire future of the autistics you support.

Autism and the Good Enough Mum

Nearly every autism parent I connect with, at conferences, at talks, and online, has this sneaking fear.  And sometimes the fear isn’t very far in the background. This niggling, nasty, voice says things like: I did something wrong I must have made some mistake(s) I am the problem because my […]
