I’m self-diagnosed

It’s ok, I know how scary it is to even consider being socially identified as ‘mentally defective’. First, there’s recent history of ‘treatments’. Enough said. Then, there are all the people losing their jobs, their partners, their families…

I was so afraid of what was being done to autistics in the medical literature! It took 20 years for my commitment to demonstrate I could speak from my own autism experiences to surpass that fear. But before that, when I worked publicly toward ‘posautive’ change, the disbelief was palpable...

If you aren’t needing to advocate for change, you don’t need that diagnosis unless it will get you funds and services otherwise unavailable.

What you DO need is to:

  1. grasp the SMART Steps to Thrive With Autism
  2. match the symptoms you’re experiencing with their underlying health causes (page coming soon)
  3. nail the top three most-effective interventions in your home and life (page coming soon)

This isn’t rocket science.

You’ve likely been learning about autism from the perspective of the over-60-years-outdated medical standards of practice and media reporting. And that doesn’t match up very well with your experiences. I can hand you the relevant science so you can reach out for what will really help.

If you want a little boost with those three steps:

Just wanted to say a sincere thank you for coming to educate us about autism and how to improve our lives in general. It was very educational and empowering at the same time. You have inspired me to learn more about it and to make lasting changes in my life and the life of my wife and kids. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I was diagnosed as an adult

So you bit the bullet, either to advocate for change, or to access funds and services otherwise unavailable. You’re ‘out’ now, and ready to figure out how to optimize your life...

Have I got good news for you!

None of your gifts are going away. But if you want, every single one of your challenges can be minimized, and sometimes entirely healed, many with inexpensive and DIY (do it yourself) actions. It’s your choice what to grapple with, and what to leave well enough alone.

However, if you’ve been learning about autism from the perspective of the over-60-years-outdated medical standards of practice and media reporting, that won’t match up very well with your experiences of autism. And you might not enjoy reading medical journals.

This isn’t rocket science.

I can hand you the relevant science that matches your experiences, so you can reach out for what will really help -- what already has helped thousands of us, many of us through experimenting with our own lives and health. You’ll have the data to back up your experiences.

Every session is getting better and better, and more and more info is being shared.  Absolutely great exchange of knowledge and info, thanks. To have gone through these sessions has enlightened me in the field beyond imagination.  Sincere Thank You.

Whether you’re deaf or mute (hey, we can use those words, it’s them that have the ‘politically correct’ hangups), you’re wanting resources YOU can access.

I can’t promise that everything will be in writing right away. But if there’s a resource you especially want in a different format (audio, video, print), email me and I’ll get it done.

The idea of habituation and masking - something to think about. Interesting book resources introduced. Really opened my eyes about things I had never thought of as bad for me. These were eye-opening presentations that explained a lot about what I have experienced over the years.

Judy A, spectrum adult and parent

The presentations, followed by group discussion, really help connecting the dots of our own situation.

I’m an autism parent/educator/professional with autism

You knew you were different. You knew that you had extra insights, extra problem-solving abilities. You knew that your challenges were reflected in the smaller or larger challenges of the autistics around you, because...

You’re a systems thinker, a highly sensitive person, an autistic. You chose to step into making the world better for your kids, your clients, your students, and yourself. I see you.

Thank you.

Chances are, you’re getting results others are envious of, and you’re working hard to translate what you understand into words they can ‘get’. I know how hard that can be. And I’d like for us to help each other.

Please set up a mentoring session to let me know about yourself and what you do.

I watched the lecture tonight and was really impressed--such clarity and compassion. If I were the parent of a child on the spectrum looking around for help out there, I'd feel so re-assured by the depth of your knowledge, by the fact that you've been through it all, and that you make dealing with it seem possible, when things can so easily seem overwhelming. Sounds like you are really helping people and have really found your niche. And I can imagine that it only came by dint of a lot of hard work and persistence!

Your unique autism experiences tell you what’s needed to thrive.

Autism symptoms tell you which environments and actions

  • make our challenges worse
  • allow our gifts to emerge
  • optimize our autism, and enable us to thrive!

You’ve heard that when you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism. You’ve heard that you can’t generalize about us autistics -- every single one of us has:

  • different personalities, gifts and challenges
  • different interventions that help, or don’t
  • different levels of functioning (Don’t get fooled by this!)

There’s no such thing as high or low functioning.

Instead, there are internal and surrounding environments which enable autistics, and ones which disable us, by aggravating the up to five specific health issues at the root of our challenges.

You can create the non-toxic, peaceful surroundings which allow you to trust, function, learn, engage, and heal.

While each of our autism gifts and challenges -- and the extra interventions we might need -- are different, the environments which optimize our turnaround, our recovery of health and function, our capacity to thrive…

Those environments follow the exact same patterns, all around the world, for every single one of us.

You have the potential to dramatically improve the entire future for yourself, and for all the autistics who follow you.

The Five Root Causes of Autism Challenges

You’ve possibly noticed just how different each autistic person is.  The kinds of therapies and treatments most suited to helping each one of us are almost as diverse as we are. But the lifestyle changes that address our underlying health challenges are ALL the SAME! How can this be? Autistics […]

Calm Autism Stress With Sensory Meditation

Walking to and from my inner-city, bully-dominated, and sensory-nightmare grade school, about ¼ of my route was shaded by magnificent trees. These trees were so tall and broad that they mostly over-arched the entire width of the street. When I walked under them, I felt like I was in the […]

Inflammation seems to be at the root of most (over 85%) of human ills.  Obesity.  Heart Disease.  Dementia.  Migraines.  Psoriasis.  Thyroid Problems.  Cancers.  Lupus.  Allergies.  ADHD.  Chronic pain.  And much, much more. Try doing a web browser search on the health issue that bothers you the most, alongside the word […]
