Disclaimer
The content of this website is based on the collective experiences of autistic spectrum individuals about factors which enable or disable us, on the health research which sheds light on our experiences, and on the interventions which show promise, whether for all autistics, or for those with a specific underlying health challenge.
Not intended as medical advice, but rather a sharing of knowledge based on research and experience, this information is presented for educational purposes only. Jackie encourages you to make your own health care decisions based on your own informed judgment and research in partnership with a qualified healthcare professional.
Jackie McMillan is not a physician. The relationship between Jackie and her clients is not one of prescriber and patient, but instead one of supporter, educator, mentor, guide, and listener. It is fully the client’s choice whether or not to take advantage of the information and support that Jackie offers. In order to be treated or diagnosed, Jackie believes that the advice of a licensed professional is in order.
These licensed professionals might include: Psychologists, licensed Homeopathic Doctors, licensed Naturopathic Doctors, licensed Osteopathic Doctors, licensed Ayurvedic Doctors, licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors, Holistic Physicians, or Doctors of Environmental or Functional Medicine. Unfortunately, it is difficult if not impossible for most regular MDs (Medical Doctors trained in Western, allopathic medicine) to effectively support autistics in health turnaround while their medical standards of practice are so outdated, and their professional associations so punitive.
